Black pennant

Selysiothemis nigra

A small dragonfly with a body length of 30-38 mm and a hindwing length of 24-27 mm, primarily black in males, lighter in females, with no patches on the wing bases, and the pterostigma is light with a black border. This dragonfly prefers shallow lakes. The black pennant flies throughout the year, spending much of its time perched on the water’s edge.
