Clarina syriaca

A large hawkmoth with a wingspan of 50-65 mm, resembles the grapevine of which it is often considered a subspecies, except that it is smaller and the wings are more dentated. This species lives in vineyards, farmland, and mountain valleys. Host plants include the grapevine (Vitis vinifera). This moth flies May through September, in several generations.
