Clear-winged demoiselle

Calopteryx hyalina

A large damselfly with a body length of 40-48 mm and a hindwing length of 28-31 mm, the wings are narrow and pointed, males dark blue while females dark green. The clear-winged lives near sunny slow-flowing streams and rivers, also in larger ponds and lakes. This endemic species flies April through September, its flight is fluttery and butterflylike, and is considered endangered.
