False small white – LEPIDOPTERA LIBANOTICA

False small white

Pieris pseudorapae pseudorapae

A small white butterfly with a wingspan of 35-50 mm, females often smaller, resembles the small white but with more yellow on its wings. The false small lives in many different types of habitats, including fields, meadows, woodland, stony hillsides, and dry mountain slopes. Host plants are likely members of the mustard family (Brassicaceae). The butterfly flies March through September, in several broods.
