Aeshna isoceles

A large yellowish-brown dragonfly, one of the larger hawkers, with a body length of 62-66 mm and a hindwing length of 39-45 mm, distinguished by its bright green eyes, clear wings, and a yellow triangular marking on the abdomen. This dragonfly lives in sunny standing or slow-moving water surrounded by reeds, such as ponds, lakes, ditches, streams, rivers, and marshes. The green-eyed flies May through August and is among the earliest hawkers to fly, looks reddish in flight.
