Green-striped white

Euchloe belemia belemia

A smaller white butterfly with a wingspan of 32-44 mm and characteristic greenish markings on the undersides. The green-striped lives along the coastline and in farmland, open woodland, flower-rich meadows, scrub, semi-desert, and stony mountainsides. Host plants are represented by members of the mustard family, including cabbage (Brassica spp.), white mustard (Sinapis alba), rocket (Sisymbrium irio), and candytufts (Iberis spp.). It flies from February through early June in several broods, the flight is fast and close to the ground.
