Syrian bluet

Coenagrion syriacum

A small blue and black damselfly with a body length of 30-33 mm and a hindwing length of 14-20 mm. This damselfly lives in standing water such as ponds, lakes, marshes, and swamps, as well as slow-flowing rivers, irrigation ditches, and canals. This endemic species flies May through September, and is considered near threatened.
