Syrian skipper

Muschampia nomas nomas

A skipper with a wingspan of 30-31 mm, resembles the large grizzled but larger with white on the undersides and the females are more creamy. The Syrian lives in mountain pastures and on dry grassy slopes. The host plants associated with this species are phlomis (Phlomis spp.). It flies from May through July, the flight is fast and direct.
