A conspicuous bright yellow, brownish-black, and blue butterfly with a wingspan of 40-60 mm, females frequently larger. This species inhabits the drier parts of Lebanon, such as coastal farmland, stony hillsides, forest edges, grassland, and semi-desert. The host plant associated with this butterfly is Syrian marjoram (Origanum syriacum). This migratory butterfly is on-wing all throughout the year, the flight is described as fast, gliding, and close to the ground.
