Banded groundling

Brachythemis impartita

A small black and light brown dragonfly with a body length of 25-34 mm and a hindwing length of 20-26 mm, the large dark band between the node and the creamy white pterostigma is diagnostic. This dragonfly lives in slow-flowing rivers, lakes, and marshes. This species flies throughout the summer months, is nomadic and spends much of its time perched on the water’s edge.
