Diplacodes lefebvrii
A smaller black dragonfly with a body length of 25-35 mm and a hindwing length of 19-29 mm, the eyes dark brown above and violet below, white upper abdominal appendages, and large brown pterostigma are diagnostic. Also called the “black ground skimmer,” this species lives in a wide range of freshwater habitats, including ephemeral types. This species flies throughout the summer months, and is nomadic.
