Cordulegaster insignis

A large black and yellow dragonfly with a body length of 71-83 mm and a hindwing length of 40-49 mm, the colouration, blue eyes, and yellow occipital triangle are diagnostic. This dragonfly prefers small shaded streamlets, ditches, and springs, in hilly and mountainous regions. This endemic species flies June through August.
