Eastern willow spreadwing

Chalcolestes parvidens

A fairly large damselfly with a body length of 40-44 mm and a hindwing length of 20-26 mm, typically metallic green or brown. The eastern willow lives in standing or slow-flowing water with soft bark trees and thickets along the banks. This species flies May through November, and spreads its wings at a 45 degree angle when resting.
