Leptidea duponcheli xanthochroa
Another small white butterfly with a wingspan of 34-42 mm, resembles the wood but with yellowish wings and brownish antennae. The eastern lives in scrub, forest, meadows, dry grassland, open woodland, and on stony slopes. Host plants include the legumes: sainfoin (Onobrychis cornuta), yellow vetchling (Lathyrus aphaca), meadow vetchling (L. pratensis), and birdsfoot-trefoils (Lotus spp.). This butterfly flies April through July in several broods.
