Foxtail-lily hawkmoth – LEPIDOPTERA LIBANOTICA

Foxtail-lily hawkmoth

Hyles centralasiae

A larger hawkmoth with a wingspan of 60-75 mm, resembles the spurge but is lighter, and the pale median stripe extends to the costa and is interrupted twice. As the name suggests, the host plants are desert candles (Eremurus spp.). This moth flies March through September.
