Lebanese blue

Aricia bassoni bassoni

A small blue with a wingspan of 28-30 mm, males are greenish-grey while females are darker. The Lebanese lives at higher altitudes, on stony mountain slopes and along alpine river valleys. The host plant associated with this butterfly is the hemlock stork’s-bill (Erodium cicutarium). This species flies May through September in several broods.
