Six-spot burnet

Zygaena filipendulae syriaca

A burnet with a wingspan of 30-40 mm. This moth lives in grassy and flowery places, meadows, forest clearings, and cliffs. Host plants include birdsfoot-trefoil (Lotus spp.), crownvetch (Coronilla spp.), Canary-clover (Dorycnium spp.), and clovers (Trifolium spp.). This species flies June through August.
