Turanian rock brown

Pseudochazara thelephassa thelephassa

The commoner of the rock browns with a wingspan of 42-45 mm, the dark brown colouration, eyespots, and continuous orange bands are characteristic. The Turanian lives in a number of diverse habitats, such as coasts, stony slopes, alpine meadows, and semi-desert. Host plants are represented by members of the grass family (Graminae). This migratory species flies June through August.
